Frontlist: The book’s title translates to “The Secret to a Happy Life.” In your experience, what core principle of yoga has the most transformative impact on one’s happiness and emotional balance?

Manmohan: Ashtang yog

Frontlist: You’ve explained each asana and pranayama with great detail and pictures. What was the most important thing you kept in mind while making yoga easy to understand through a book?

Manmohan: Beginners

Frontlist: Do you believe yoga can be a universal language of healing, regardless of age, geography, or faith?

Manmohan: Firmly

Frontlist: As someone who has lived and taught in both India and the West, how do you see the global perception of Yoga evolving post-International Yoga Day’s institutional recognition?

Manmohan: Spreading fast, has bright future.

Frontlist: After 37 years of personal practice and 35 years of teaching, what continues to keep your relationship with yoga alive and evolving?

Manmohan: Several people come to me, suffering from various ailments. After counseling and treatment they feel better.

Frontlist: What does International Yoga Day represent to you, not only as a celebration, but as a reminder of the deeper responsibility that comes with this ancient science?

Manmohan: To attract more and new people.

Frontlist: Do you believe Yoga can serve as a preventive system in public health policies, and what would such integration look like at scale, especially for chronic lifestyle diseases?

Manmohan: Yes. Most people are benefited if they practice yoga regularly.

Frontlist: In today’s world of hyper-productivity, how can yoga, especially in the way you’ve structured it in this book, help people move from a mindset of always-on-the-move to one of presence and balance?

Manmohan: As mind stabilizes, problems, both physical and mental go on reducing.The freshness achieved keeps them bound to yoga.
